Bilbo's Windows Phone 8

Meet Bilbo ['s Windows Phone 8]

I don't know if this is awesome or just too much (what with the Denny's Second Breakfast and all that). Ok, while I think they are milking the film a little too much, I do think this is kind of cool, though I wish they took it a little farther though, with music picks, app's, etc... :P

"The Lord of the Rings" - 90 Minutes, Lego style

freeware genius - Watch ‘The Lord of the Rings’ as a 90+ minute LEGO animated feature

The ‘Lord of The Rings’ epic is back, this time in LEGO form. You may be familiar with LEGO’s cutscene videos, which are little animated vignettes that are part of the commercial LEGO video games. Or are released as part of the marketing for the various series that LEGO puts out), from Indiana Jones (see this post) to Star Wars Clone Wars to everything else that makes it into LEGO.

But what if I told you that someone strung the LEGO ‘Lord of the Rings’ animated vignettes together to make a ‘Lord of The Rings’ animated feature that is more than 90 minutes long. It’s true, and you can watch it below.

Nice! Will have to watch this when I get to work (err... um... I mean... when I get home tonight.... um yeah... that). Just watching the first few minutes while on the train has me hooked. :)

LOTR Project - All Lord of the Rings, all data, all awesome...

LOTR Project

LOTR Project - About

About the project
The Lord of the Rings Project is a project and initiative started by Emil Johansson. It is an attempt to place every character in J.R.R Tolkien’s fictional universe in a family tree. With time, the project will expand to include other things.

Shaun Gunner, Trustee and Publicity Officer of The Tolkien Society, Deputy Chair of The Return of the Ring, and administrator of Tolkien Gateway, has decided to lend the project his expertise. Shaun is currently both a collaborator and adviser on the development of the project.

About Emil Johansson
I am very glad you have found this site and hope you enjoy the project. My name is Emil Johansson and I am a part-time professional photographer and a student in Chemical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. I first read the Lord of the Rings trilogy when I was 11 years old and was caught by the magic immediately. It may have been a sort of escape from reality I don’t know. It is after all not that uncommon at that age. Since then I have read to my knowledge every book there is to read about Middle-Earth. During the height of my fandom I decided too try and make a complete family tree of all the creatures in Tolkien’s world. I can’t remember how long it took making it.

Now, six years later I have finally gathered the knowledge to do what I have always wanted to do: put the family tree on the web. In November last year I started on the quest and I have to admit, it has taken me longer than I expected. As of this moment, 646 characters have been included.

LOTR Project - Map

What with movie one of Hobbit Trilogy  coming soon, I expect a resurgence of interest in LOTR. And if not, I still this project is cool... :)

[Humor] Gollum’s MTV Award [Lord of the Rings: Two Towers] Acceptance Speech

I missed this when it originally appeared a few years ago, but watching it today made me laugh so hard all our animals came into the room to see if I was okay and brought tears to my eyes...

[Humor] MMO Learning Curve

Joe Ludwig’s blog - We’re easier than EVE!

This made me "snort laugh" and I really hate when that happens... ;)

I've you've played EVE (or thought about it and ran away in brain cell saving terror instead) this will be self explanatory...
