Well I downloaded and installed the latest (May 2004) CTP for VS2005 (onto a VPC)
Went pretty smooth.
There was one issue where the setup needed to reboot. When it tried to restart the setup said it failed... Once I restarted the setup everything continued through to the end fine.
This failure is a known issue and it talked about here (among other places).
Running the VPC on my notebook is a lesson in patience, but overall I dig the new VS.
The Application settings are very cool.
VS really is maturing. Since this is a "2.0" you can really see just how good "3.0" is going to be (which as we all know when MS really gets things right)(which is understandable... it's two versions of getting customer feedback, real world usage, etc)
Some of the new VS Team stuff is in (Testing, Performance, etc) but I've not had a chance to play with it yet...
If this is a pre-beta, then I can't wait till the beta bits ship!
