Who was your "First" President?
The first president that you identified with? The first one you first voted for? The one the first touched you? The first one that made you proud to be an American?
Yesterday, my "First" President passed away...
As I left home-cut flowers at the Reagan Presidential Library yesterday afternoon I thought about how one man, one I've never met or even seen in person, could effect me so emotionally.
I realized he was my "first" president. I entered true adulthood with him as president. Was part of his building up of our nation's strength while in the Army. I felt the nation's awakening as it emerged from under the cloud that was Vietnam and the Carter years. It was like we finally woke up from a bad dream...
"President Reagan, you made me proud to be an American.
Thank you
God bless you and Mrs. Reagan"
