Beta Network/Hobby Lounge - Speedfan Meter v1.5 New! - Downloads
Speedfan Meter is nice looking Vista Sidebar gadget that shows you all the cool information that the SpeedFan utility (available separately here) gathers about your system.
I'm a long time fan of Speedfan so this is in a cool find...
sigh... The sad part is that my old notebook (currently my only home Vista install) doesn't have a sensor chip supported by Speedfan. :(
Still this will be useful when I finally upgrade some of my other systems.

Hi Greg
ReplyDeleteWhere is the download for this file? DO I have to pay for it? All roads seem to lead to betanetworks, but after that I'm stumped.
Please advise.
Looks like it's gone.
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone took over the Betanetwork.net site and turned it into an ad site....
That's just too bad as it used to be a pretty cool resource.
I'll keep my eyes open for a new download site...
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people on the UMPCportal forum are worrying about their Kohjinsha/VYE SH8's overheating. Mine seems to be fine (it does get very hot though) but I'd like to find out just exactly how hot the CPU is getting. The issue isn't so much the CPU but the Ram. On 1GB their laptops are fine, but with 2GB the heat goes up quite substantially. I have 2GB installed and have noticed no ill effects myself. I'd just hate to be unknowingly frying my CPU as a result though.
A couple updates...
ReplyDelete1. It seems you can get v1.5 of the gadget here, http://www.sendspace.com/file/o1br2b. I've downloaded this and it seems to match the original v1.5 I downloaded last year...
2. You can alway use the base utility, SpeedFan, without the Vista Gadget (you'll need this anyway because the gadget needs it). Get SpeedFan here, http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
3. For additional information see this forum (where I found the download link in #1 above... on page 3.).

I hope this helps,

Thanks for the pointer. Looks like canonical source is now thehobbylounge.com. See their Speedfan Meter forum for the goodies.
ReplyDeleteNote that you have to be registered (free) and logged in to download files.

Hi, I'm looking to only monitor CPU temp, and I don't want all the other stuff. Is there any way you can allow the user to remove certain monitors from showing in the gadget?
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
