King’s Quest is back baby! The first episode of the fan King’s Quest project,The Silver Lining - Episode 1 - What Is Decreed Must Be, is now available for download (Free, forum registration required)

Some months back I blogged about “The Silver Lining,” a King’s Quest fan project that’s been in development for almost eight years.  I was upset because Activision, after acquiring Vivendi-Universal, decided to shutdown the project. Well, it seams that things have changed! Activision has granted Phoenix Online a full non-profit license to release all five episodes over the coarse of 2010. Thank you Activision! You did something really good. In about 20 minutes from now, Episode 1: What is Decreed Must Be, releases to web.  Here’s the list of episodes planned in the series:

The install, and suggested Win7 patch, went smooth for me (Win7 x64, MS PDC09 Acer 1420p, 4GB RAM) and the game, and cutscenes, etc, play very well…

  1. I assume you know about AGD's fan games (http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/games.html).

    A few years ago I was in a nerdy mood, and got the original KQ1 working on my dual-core 64-bit Vista with 24-inch widescreen monitor. It was sweet!
