The interesting Xobni Outlook addin is now in open beta... And is not even reg-ware (i.e. just download it, install it and go)

I run this at home and sometimes at work. Why sometimes at work? I have over 7+GB in work emails in different PST's and older versions of it seemed to slow down Outlook... where as if it wasn't installed, Outlook was fine... But I keep coming back every other version to see if it's better as I dig it so...  ;)

A couple of us at work tried this last week, was good the first day, but after that Outlook kept crashing, hanging or taking up a lot of processing power. So all of us uninstalled it. It's a good idea, but didn't seem fully baked yet.

True...

[Insert standard "it's a beta" comment here ;) ]

The cool thing is that they seem to be pretty aggressive in their releases (Updates & New Releases), each seeming to make it a better product (funny that).

And now that the MS-Xobni deal is dead (so I've read), maybe we'll see even more aggressive releases? Since now they need get this out and stable, sink or swim, do or die, etc, etc.

We'll see.

In any case, I think it's time for me to give it another go... :)
