Visio Crime Scenes Add-in

Microsoft Downloads - Microsoft Visio Crime Scenes Add-in

If you are using Visio 2000 (SR-1) or an earlier version and you have never installed the Crime Scenes solution before, or if you have the 1995 version of the solution, install this add-in.

Quick details

Version: 5.0
Date published: 8/29/2012

Language:English

CrimeScenes.exe, 1.2 MB

You need this download if:

  • You have never installed the Crime Scenes solution before.
  • You have the 1995 version of the Crime Scenes solution.

If you are using Visio 2000 (SR-1) or an earlier version and you have never installed the Crime Scenes solution before, or if you have the 1995 version of the solution, install this add-in. For users of the earlier version, this add-in improves the installation process and makes the solution's templates and stencils accessible through the New command on the File menu and in the Choose Drawing Type dialog box.

...

Files installed with the Crime Scenes update
Visio product folder
Crime Scenes Readme.txt
Solutions License Agreement.txt

Visio\Solutions\Crime Scenes folder
Indoor.vss
Outdoor.vss
Evidence.vss
Large Site.vst
Medium Site.vst
Small Site.vst

I don't know if this works with a modern version of Visio, but I still think it's kind of neat none the less (I've been watching WAY to many crime dramas on TV...lol)

Nice. Thanks :)

That link no longer works.
The crime scene plugin does not install on Windows 7 x64 due to the incompatibility with the installer.

@[Latest]Anonymous;
Yep, confirmed, the MS Download version doesn't work on Win8 x64 either.

BUT the link in the comment above to the Visio 2010/2013 version does seem to work...

I am trying to figure out how to make a crime scene using visio, but I have no clue where or how to start it I have the visio 2013 and got the crime scene templates added but I'm confused, any advice?

@Jennifer Leppert Yeah, I just tried it on Windows 10/Visio 2016 and the CrimeScene installer didn't seem to work... I guess we're kind of hosed now. :(

Could someone extract the files and then post them on a file sharing site? All you need is a 32 bit Windows....

Thanks!
