Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 to be removed from US MSDN/TechNet Subscriber Downloads Today, Saturday, Jan 9 (?? Unconfirmed)
ActiveWin - Microsoft Office 2003 Pulled from MSDN and TechNet
“Due to a United States court ruling related to a custom XML markup implementation in Word 2003, MSDN, TechNet, and Expression Subscribers in the United States will not be allowed to download Office 2003 starting tomorrow, Saturday January 9, 2010. This does not affect subscribers in other countries.
All 36 languages of Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 are affected. See below for a complete list of affected files. Starting on January 9, 2010, MSDN subscribers in the countries/territories listed below will not be allowed to download Office 2003 Enterprise/Professional. At this time, we do not have a date for when this restriction will be removed.” [Post Leached in full]
At this moment (January 9th 2010 8:45AM PST) I can still download “Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 (English)” via my MSDN Subscribers Download (I’m downloading it as I write this.. just incase).
I’m not able to find any additional information or details as the original post that ActiveWin is quoting doesn’t seem to be available anymore and everyone else is pointing at ActiveWin, so this may be nothing, inaccurate, under a different time frame, etc.
Yet it seems like something that reasonably happen, so… Download it soon if you need it…
