FeedDemon is now Free! As in no cost, free as in beer, why aren't you downloading it yet, free? Also FeedDemon 2.6 has been released too.

Nick Bradbury - FREE Demon? Yes, FeedDemon is Now Free!

"That's right, FeedDemon is now free.  As in, you don't have to pay for it anymore.  Just download it and use it free of charge.

And we're also making NetNewsWire, NewsGator Inbox and NewsGator Go free.  In other words, all of NewsGator's consumer RSS readers are free.

If you don't care about the details, you can stop reading now and simply download the new FeedDemon 2.6 (for free, of course). If you're using a previous version of FeedDemon, you should install v2.6 directly on top of it.

...

OK, if you're still reading this, chances are you have a bunch of questions.  We have a FAQ on our site which should answer most of them, but there's one question I'd like to address here:

"Is this some sneaky ploy to stop development of FeedDemon and your other consumer products?"

Good lord, no. ..."

Wow, this is great news!

IMHO FeedDemon is one of the best Windows feed readers out there. Good enough where I've pony'ed up the funds to buy it (and recently renew my NewsGator for another year... :/ ) and have been using it for a while now (year+) on a couple machines...

This is a great product and works very well with BlogLines (my web passed feed host of choice).

If you're unhappy with your Windows based current reader, then you have to check FeedDemon out. You can't complain about the price...

Also note that FeedDemon 2.6 has been released, http://www.newsgator.com/Individuals/FeedDemon/. Downloading it now.

New Version! Top new features in FeedDemon 2.6:

  • "Panic Button" – detects when you have a ton of unread items and offers to mark them (or a subset of them) as read
  • Significant performance improvements
  • Redesigned newspaper UI
  • Significant improvements to offline reading support, including redesigned "prefetching" of feeds
  • Inline page search
  • Attention reporting/APML export
