We are still early in beta, but have been feature complete for a year now to allow writing both simple (see Tutorials) and complex games (see Showcases). We are always focused on making the game developers life easier and we listen to your feedback! Also note that we are currently a programmer focused engine (on purpose), our tools are not artist focused yet.

Delta Engine - Licensing

"The Delta Engine is an Open Source .NET engine, currently focused on game development, but application development is also possible and will be improved in the future (in the meantime check out our friends at Xamarin if you want to do application development in .NET).

The engine is free on PC, so you can develop your project, extend the engine and sell the PC version for free. Most importantly all your development happens on Windows (or Linux or MacOS, but not all tools are supported there yet), we recommend Visual Studio 2010, but any editor works fine. For all other supported platform you need a Delta Engine Multiplatform License to compile and test your application via the Launcher tool. Please also see Terms Of Use for additional details and the source code license.

Note: Currently the engine is in beta, you cannot purchase any Multiplatform Licenses yet. We plan to have everything up and running soon (still figuring out the best deals possible with the platform providers). Licensing should start with v0.9.1 (end of October).

This idea of .Net dev everywhere, across so many platforms has always intrigued me (hence why I also follow Mono/Xamarin news). That and of course since I'm a frustrated wanna-be wanna-be game developer (what dev isn't? lol) this project struck a cord with me. Added to my bucket list. :P
