“Windows Azure Platform: Articles from the Trenches Volume 1” free eBook now available (Think the “We’ve been there, done that, learn from our mistakes and triumphs” Azure eBook)

IUpdateable from Eric Nelson - Windows Azure Platform: Articles from the Trenches Volume 1

“Developers have been exploring the possibilities opened up by the Windows Azure Platform for Cloud Computing. This book pulls together great articles from many of those developers who have been active with the Windows Azure Platform to hopefully help others become successful. There are twenty articles in this first volume covering everything from getting started to implementing best practices for elastic applications.

And ... a big thanks to the 15 authors of the articles. Well done to each and every one of you!

The book is available FREE as a PDF download, can be viewed on slideshare.net and to buy as a paperback from lulu.com - or just viewed here!

Download the eBook for FREE and please Give Feedback - as we hope to deliver a Volume Two later in 2010.

CHAPTER 3: WINDOWS AZURE

CHAPTER 4: SQL AZURE

From The Editor;

The Windows Azure Platform is changing the way we architect, implement, deploy and manage solutions. In early 2010 it went live and in the first six months we have already seen an impressively diverse range of solutions developed to take advantage of the services offered.

This book pulls together great articles from many of those developers who have been active with the Windows Azure Platform to hopefully help others be successful. There are twenty articles in this first volume covering everything from getting started to implementing best practices for elastic applications. You are not expected to read it in order from start to finish. Instead I would encourage you to head straight to the chapters or the individual articles that look most relevant or interesting.

The book was put together in May and early June 2010 which means that it pre-dates the 1.2 release of the Windows Azure SDK. The 1.2 released adds some great new features, especially for Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0 in areas such as debugging and IDE integration. Volume Two of this book will cover off those new features (and more!)

Once you have had a chance to look at the articles please give us your feedback at http://bit.ly/azureebook1feedback (It should take less than one minute). Thank you and happy reading.

This is my favorite kind of book, a “From Developers/real world users to Developers/Real World users” book (and the fact that is such high quality and free doesn’t hurt either ;)
