SP6 for VB6 (and VC6, SourceSafe 6) Released
UPDATE: SP6 for VB6 is not new. Looks like it was originally released in 2004. Why the new MS Download, with the new dates? Don’t know… Still, it’s a good reminder to apply this if you missed it (or are rebuilding a machine, etc)

Yes, there are still VB6’ers our there in the wild (cough… like me… sigh… cough).
No sure yet what’s in this SP, if I find any specific details I’ll update this post.

SP6 for VB6 has been out for years (the dates on mine are from March 2004)! Is this a refresh or just a type on the Microsoft site?
@KFrancis
LOL
Yeah, confirmed (in looking at the KB article, it's dated 2004, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290887 same with this SP6 for VB6 download, Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp6.exe) )
sigh
The updated dates on the download info caught my eye and so I thought it was a new SP. Doh!
So I'm going to guess it's just a republishing of the old SP6...
But the download is called vs6sp6B (note the appended *B*), and the download size is also different from the previous SP6.
Definitely seems to be a refresh to me.
This must be Microsoft's way of finding out how VB6 is still used :-)
