Windows 8 Design Handbook - Understanding Live Tiles

A live tile is an app's representation on the Windows 8 start screen. It can be updated with new content even when the app isn't running, encouraging users to return to the app. But there are some common mistakes that are made when designing live tiles that you should be aware of.

Most of the rules seem logical and clear, but I just can't help wondering why the usage of colors is so bad thing? I think colors and font weight really make the UI much more readable.

For example the "weather tile" that uses colors is much more readable than a boring white one.
