Blink and you'll miss it... But not with the free Windows Phone 8 app from MSR, BLINK

Dr. Z's Blog - BLINK–a Continuous Picture Taking App on Windows Phone 8

Microsoft Research has recently released a great Windows Phone 8 app named “BLINK” that takes continuous pictures. Unlike Nokia’s Smart Shoot, Blink takes more than a dozen pictures with one touch, and you can then play back the pictures and choose the one you like most. It’s a vey handy camera app you want to take with you wherever you go.

With BLINK for Windows Phone 8, you'll never miss the best shot. BLINK captures a burst of images before you even press the shutter, and continues to capture pictures after you've taken your shot. It’s no problem if you press the shutter a few seconds too early or too late. With BLINK, a simple finger swipe lets you find the perfect shot. Advanced image stabilization technology from Microsoft Research removes camera shake and lets you focus on the important parts of the scene.

Microsoft Research - Blink

With BLINK for Windows Phone 8, you'll never miss the best shot. BLINK captures a burst of images before you even press the shutter, and continues to capture pictures after you’ve taken your shot. It’s no problem if you press the shutter a few moments too early or too late. BLINK saves the series of images it captures from the shutter, and you can retrieve and use any of these shots from the photos hub by simply opening the image in BLINK!

With BLINK, a simple finger swipe lets you find the perfect shot now—or later. Advanced image stabilization technology from Microsoft Research removes camera shake and lets you focus on the important parts of the scene.

With BLINK at your side, never miss the perfect shot again!

Using BLINK is as easy as 1-2-3!

1. Capture your favorite moment in BLINK by either pressing the shutter button or tapping on the screen

2. Move the selection marker, the yellow square, to the image you like. You can slide it back and forth to re-live the moment!

Hit save to save the selected image to the photos hub and the entire capture sequence to the app.

3. Swipe from left to get to your previous captures and engage in a number of things including re-selecting, sharing and deleting.

I thought this WP8 app kind of cool and given the price, something I wanted to remember. I do wish these kind of apps, those coming from inside of Microsoft were source available or had some kind of more in-depth write-up, but then again, I'd rather something over nothing. (That and it's nice to see this come to WP first... ;)
